Chief Lucky Igbinedion, the former Governor of Edo State, has again been charged with corruption. This time, he will face a N25 billion fraud “trial” at the Federal High Court in Benin, the city where he began his political career, and where he ran a corruption bazaar for eight years.

But just as was the case in his first “trial” two years ago, Mr. Igbinedion is unlikely ever to see a prison cell as sources say the charges have political undertones and the event is aimed only at whipping Mr. Igbinedion back into line. Jonathan’s current Chief of Staff, Mike Oghadiome, was Mr. Igbinedion’s Deputy Governor when Edo State was being looted back into the pre-military era by the former Edo College student.

Orji Kalu the former governor of Abia State, who is currently facing corruption charges for looting the government while in office, has put up his United States mansion up for sale, according to real estate records obtained by SaharaReporters.

The property, which is on five acres of land at 14900 River Road, Potomac, Maryland, has seven bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms.

It not clear why Kalu is selling the home but last year a 47-year old Nigerian woman, Chinwe Masi, mysteriously died on the property while Mr. Kalu was there.

Although the Maryland coroner office told SaharaReporters that Chinwe, who was purportedly Mr. Kalu's mistress, died of heart attack, family members and friends said they suspected foul play. They cited the rushed and secret burial which was done by a select group of family members.

Associates of Mr. Kalu also told SaharaReporters that since leaving office in 2007, the former governor's financial fortunes have dipped.

Businesses such as his Slok airline in Gambia have failed.

Kalu’s mother, Eunice Uzor, also owns $1.3 million, six-bedroom waterfront property at 4922 Shapiro Court Missouri City, Texas 77459.

Mr. Kalu had originally listed the Potomac home, which was built in 1996, for $4.5 million, but after 139 days on the market without a buyer, he drastically reduced the price to $2.9 million.

Mr. Kalu bought the property in June 2003, a few months after he became a second term governor of Abia State, a state he recklessly looted in a series corruption schemes that led to his arrest and arraignment for money laundering in 2007 after he stepped down as governor.

Beautiful Lesotho traditional houses

The traditional style of housing in Lesotho is called a rondavel.

A rondavel is a traditional African-style house.

It is usually round in shape and is traditionally made with materials that can be locally obtained in raw form. The rondavel's walls are often constructed from stones. The mortar may consist of sand, soil, or some combinations of these mixed with dung. The floor is finished with a processed dung mixture to make it smooth. The roof braces of a rondavel are made out of tree limbs, which have been harvested and cut to length. The roof itself is made out of thatch that is sewn to the wooden braces with rope made out of grass. The process of completing the thatch can take one weekend or up to a year with a skilled artisan, as it must be sewn in one section at a time, starting from the bottom working towards the top. As each section is sewn, it may be weathered and aged in so as to form a complete weatherproof seal.

Rondavels can be found in the countries of Southern Africa, including: South Africa, Lesotho (where the hut is also known as a mokhoro), Swaziland, Botswana, and others. Small variations exist in different areas in the height of walls and pitch of roofs as well as how the rondavels are finished. Some people elaborately carve, paint, or decorate the outside wall that has been finished off with dung. In other places, people leave their rondavels undecorated.

In recent times, with the availability of modern construction materials, the appearance and construction of rondavels have changed. They may have concrete foundations, be built with cement blocks or brick, mortared with cement, and/or roofed with corrugated tin. While the traditional rondavel did not have running water, electricity, and/or other modern amenities, many are now equipped with, or have been adapted to accommodate these.
