Zimbabwe Minister Kasukuwere’s 50 bed room mansion

Zimbabwe Minister Kasukuwere’s 50 bed room mansion

ZANU-PF cadres loyal to Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa are pushing to have Kasukuwere arrested over his handling of the country’s many Community Share Ownership Schemes (CSOSs).
On Tuesday Kasukuwere for the second week running failed to turn up for the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment to answer Brainworks corruption charges.
The spotlight has particularly been on indigenisation deals involving mining companies namely the Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Zimplats), Mimosa, Blanket Mine and Unki — owned by Anglo America Corporation.
At the time these transactions were negotiated, Kasukuwere was the indigenisation minister.
Former Hurungwe West independent Temba Mliswa has dared Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) commissioner general Gershem Pasi to collect taxes from elite politicians like Kasukuwere whom he alleges is building a monstrous house with many rooms.
“I would like to throw simple questions, Kasukuwere the house you are building in Glen Lorne, three floors with an elevator and over 50 bedrooms.  He owes me $13 000 from service station rentals.  How then did he get the money?” queried Mliswa during a recent news conference in Harare.
He added: “Zimra, I mean Gershem Pasi is busy going for small boys, why can’t he go for these big boys. That’s my challenge for Gershem Pasi. Go for these big boys. Let’s see where the money is coming from. The moment that you say I’m now this rich, we start asking have you been paying tax.  If you are a true leader you must pay your tax”.
“The other guys who are purporting to be rich do so while Zimra is sitting on millions of what they owe but because they have political connections and so forth, it’s just being put on hold,” said Mliswa.
Kasukuwere responded saying Mliswa should not start “a war he can’t sustain” by publicly attacking him and Zanu PF secretary for administration Ignatius Chombo at campaign rallies, adding the ruling party might be forced to expose his dark past.
“If he thinks he has support as he claims, let us meet in Hurungwe West on June 10. He must not mistake the support he got riding on President Robert Mugabe’s name by saying it is him who is popular.
Soon we will exorcise his ghost just in the same way we have done with the MDC in the whole country,” Kasukuwere said.
Kasukuwere challenged Mliswa to reveal why he was kicked out of London if “he was really clean”.
“As they say, those who stay in glass houses must not throw stones, I plead with Mliswa to stop being malicious and desist from maligning our good standing. I, for one, my money is easily traceable. I can challenge anyone who wants to come and I will show the source of my small but appreciative wealth,” he said.
Kasukuwere added: “This guy must close his mouth for once before his evil deeds are put bare for all to see. He must learn to carry his own cross and not blame patriotic Zanu PF members for his political misfortune, but he must look straight in the eyes of his ambitious uncle, one Didymus Mutasa, and ask him why they wanted to kill the President.
“I will not lose sleep just because Mliswa has opened his mouth and uttered his nonsense. I am focused on growing the party and rescuing it from the jaws of corruption and selfish agendas which the Gamatox people wanted it to be at.”
Mayor Justice Wadyajena, the chairman of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Youth, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment is under increasing pressure from ZANU-PF hawks that feel threatened by Kasukuwere’s rising political stock to exert pressure on Parliament in order to have him investigated for his role in the CSOSs with a view to causing his arrest.
Despite his youthful age, Wadyajena has combined his financial clout, sharp tongue and extensive political connections to cause political tremors in ZANU-PF.
Despite his youthful age, Wadyajena has combined his financial clout, sharp tongue and extensive political connections to cause political tremors in ZANU-PF.
Towards the ZANU-PF congress held last year, he was one of the key architects behind former vice president Joice Mujuru’s downfall.
Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda last year indicated that Wadyajena’s could not summon Kasukuwere to appear before his committee and answer questions pertaining to issues that happened when he was still minister of youth, indigenisation and economic empowerment, the committee thinks otherwise.
Kasukuwere’s first summons were linked to the US$1,8 billion indigenisation deals that were handled by Brainworks Capital Management but never materialised.
How Brainworks was given a tender to be a consultant for the National Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Board (NIEEB) without going to tender was one of the questions that Kasukuwere was supposed to answer before the committee.
Regardless of Mudenda’s advice, the committee has asked the ZANU-PF stalwart to come and answer questions on how the Marange-Zimunya Community Share Ownership Scheme was handled.Indications are that the committee intends to go beyond the Marange-Zimunya scheme to enquire from Kasukuwere how Brainworks came into the picture with regards to other empowerment transactions.
Under the Marange-Zimunya Community Share Ownership Scheme, some US$50 million was pledged, but only about half a million materialised ever since President Mugabe launched the scheme in 2012.
Wadyajena could not be contacted for comment. His mobile number was barred from all incoming calls.
However, that Brainworks chief executive officer, George Manyere, recently appeared before the committee professing ignorance over the government tender system and that his company was never paid a cent for their consultancy work, was quite telling of the brewing plot against Kasukuwere.
ZANU-PF informants said party snipers were angling to use the Parliament route to set their sights on Kasukuwere because he, along with newly appointed Education Minister Jonathan Moyo were being seen as the brains behind an obscure faction going by the name Generation 40, or simply G40, which seeks to renew ZANU-PF from within.

Beverley Hills Golf Estate, Borrowdale, Zimbabwe, a fabulous and beautiful Harare upmarket residential estate

A US$250 million housing project, Beverley Hills Golf Estate, Borrowdale, Harare, has been unveiled in Harare's Borrowdale suburb, potentially unleashing vast opportunities in the country's construction sector which had been guarded by a decade-long economic crisis.

The project is being undertaken by Carey Farm Private Limited, with Interfin Bank coming in as a financier.
RE/MAX Realty Centre is the selling agency.
Indicating that the project would change the landscape of Harare and Zimbabwe, RE/MAX chief executive officer, Rutendo Rutendo, said the Beverley Hills Golf Estate was going to "unlock value to a number of industries," particularly those in the construction sector.
"One of the major highlights of the project is the upgrade of Luna Road by the project developer. This public road had become inaccessible due to its bad condition. Primarily, it's the role of the city council to fix roads but to enhance the project it was necessary to fix the road not only for the benefit of Beverley Hills residence but for the city and public at large," said Rutendo.
"The public will now be able to access Luna Road from Crowhill Road all the way to Umwinsdale. As we speak now the contractors are almost complete with the fixing and upgrade of the road," he said
He indicated that at least 310 exclusive housing units, with a price pegged at US$500 000 per unit, would be constructed under the project.
"This is a winner. It's going to benefit a number of stakeholders in the construction industry like suppliers of building products, building contractors, engineers, town planners, surveyors, civil contractors, architects, furniture suppliers and electrical contractors, among others.
"The sector had gone for over a decade without any meaningful projects," Rutendo said.
He indicated that there would be a choice of 400 house designs by award winning architects, Nico Van Der Meulen and Francois Marais, both from South Africa. These architects will work with selected local architects on the project.
"The package is delivered by an exceptionally skilled team of architectural, building design, construction, landscaping, interior design, decor and development specialists," said Rutendo.
The Beverley Hills Golf Estate project is being developed on the remainder of lot H Borrowdale Estate, Harare in Luna Road off Crowhill after Borrowdale Brooke Golf Estate. The stands range from 1300 square metres (m²) to 2 900m² and are priced at US$50 per m².
Rutendo said the artistic style of the homes was "unique in design and encompasses spacious layouts and fine finishes whilst achieving an alluring air of grandeur".
"The four cluster housing stands, one commercial stand and a recreation park with a golf course perfects the estate," he said.
The cost of the plan and the building will be a private contract between buyers and builders of their choice.
There is also room for one to submit one's own plans which must be on par with the rest of the development to be accepted.

Phillip Chiyangwa's luxury mansion in Borrowdale - Zimbabwean business tycoon

ZIMBABWEAN President Robert Mugabe’s nephew, the flamboyant businessman and parliamentarian Phillip Chiyangwa is owner of arguably the largest and most expensive residential property after State House.
Variously described as extravagant, opulent, palatial, magnificent, Chiyangwa’s palace is a showpiece. Its owner built it in his own image -- controversial but flamboyant.
Chiyangwa recently allowed a Zimbabwean online property magazine, ExpoProperties into his mansion…and
they spent half a day navigating through the myriad lounges and bedrooms that are furnished with exquisite items from round the globe.
Chiyangwa, the MP for Chinhoyi, has a mansion with 15 carports, 18 bedrooms, 25 lounges, 4 balconies, 9 servant quarters, 2 swimming pools and 3 heliports.
Imposing in outlook the house stands majestically on a 3 acre plot. The garden is well manicured with not a single blade of lawn out of place. Waterfalls cascade down rugged rock features while a fountain spouts white water as you drive into the paved driveway where you are immediately greeted with a staggering choice of 15 parking lots.
The tranquil surroundings are watered by pop up sprinklers (supplied by 2 boreholes), hosting innumerable varieties of plants and fish. The carport only has a BMW 745i and Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG V8 Kompressor parked. This is by no means the whole fleet of Chiyangwa’s luxury cars.
The customised kitchen in stunning black and white contrast is spacious and well appointed. Designed and constructed under the watchful eye of Chiyangwa’s wife, the gadget savvy and chic kitchen boasts a dining area, separate washing area and pantry.
With enough granite to satisfy Fred & Wilma Flintstone and gadgetry to make Inspector Gadget look amateurish, the kitchen is truly a marvel. It is natural venue for the family’s breakfasts and the origin of the culinary masterpieces that have been served to distinguished visitors.
Describing the maze-like lounges is a challenging task. From contemporary lime ensemble to tranquil earth colours and comfortable leather the lounges are a designer’s dream. A proliferation of rugs in a riot of colours characterises the lounges. With a who’s who of the world’s top brands the lounges represent a meeting of futuristic apparatus. TV’s flatter than a ‘20 bearer’, DVD players, stereos that look like a device from Star Trek and CD’s and DVD’s with total running time longer than Le Tour de France
The formal lounge is characterised by twin staircases crafted in teak, brilliant chandeliers and sophisticated, contemporary furnishings. The effect is completed by the well stocked bar with the finest whiskies, wines and liqueurs….an entertainer’s utopia.
Tiling is in the finest Spanish tiles. ExpoProperties say they counted 25 different varieties of ceramic tiles and twelve varieties of carpets deep enough to swim in.
The master bedroom has Italian furnishings. It is a suite comprising lounge, bar, bedroom, bathroom/toilet, dressing area and balcony. The cosy bar is styled in retro stainless steel and black. Chiyangwa also opened up his amiable legendary wardrobe of suits and shoes housed in a spacious dressing area finished in classical light oak and frosted glass. His selection of suits, shirts and shoes can make American rapper and fashion mogul P Diddy’s green with envy. Classically designed, the bathroom with the inevitable Jacuzzi, is tiled in black with a shower tucked neatly in one corner.

Other features include an office with a reception area clothed in sober navy. The customised workstation complete with state of the art PC is ideal for the intrepid legislator cum entrepreneur’s hectic schedule which often spills into awkward hours. The office suite links with the bedroom via an elegant staircase finished in saligna. Adjoining the office is pool table for the relaxation of the busy legislator.
Other recreational areas are housed away from the house. A stand alone sauna with a capacity of 20 and shower facilities is housed in the gazebo complex overlooking the office suite.A spa bath sits on top of the gazebo. From the spa bath one commands a view of the outdoor pool and an all weather tennis court to complete the recreational area.
Truly a fitting home for the man known for his largesse, Chiyangwa then regaled his visitors with accounts of the distinguished visitors who have graced the home.
Built for enjoyment, this house is simply in a league of its own.
